On March 2, Governor Ron DeSantis announced that the Florida State Guard (FSG) graduated 205 soldiers from the February Initial Entry Training (IET). Over the past three weeks, volunteers completed the robust training program—earning the title of Florida State Guard Soldier.

Our Santa Fe River, Inc. announces the 12th Annual RiverFest to be held throughout March 2024. RiverFest offers two guided Plant Hikes along the Santa Fe River, a ‘Springs Hop' paddle, and culminates in the annual Song Contest on Sunday March 24th at Rum 138, 2070 Southwest County Road 138, Fort White, Florida. It is with heavy hearts that I must inform the community of the passing of Assistant Fire Chief Dwight Boozer. Chief Boozer passed away after a long battle with cancer. Chief Boozer’s impact on this department and Lake City as a community is immeasurable. Chief Boozer will be greatly missed.
