Mayo, Fla., – Four Florida school districts are set to receive rebates from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to replace a total of 30 diesel school buses with new electric models. Taylor, Dixie, Lafayette and Sumter counties are among 400 districts across the country to benefit from the first round of funding under the EPA Clean School Bus Program.

William (Bill) Cody Leithead of Dowling Park, FL (formally Glenside, PA) passed away peacefully in his sleep at 4:40 am on Monday, November 28, 2022 at the age of 94 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Dowling Park, Florida.

For those that live in the rural parts of the county, finding abandoned dogs along the roadways is a heartbreaking and frustrating situation and it happens more frequently than many would imagine.
These dogs eagerly wait for their owners to return with every car that passes, sometimes staying in the very spot where their owners left them for days, waiting for them to return. They are scared, hungry and don’t know what to do.
